The School of Oceanography offers Bachelor's, Master's and PhD degree programs in marine science. The School currently has around 120 faculty and staff members, and is enrolled approximately 150 and 300 undergraduate and graduate students, respectively. It possesses the Ministry of Education Key Laboratory for Polar Ecosystem and Climate Change, Shanghai Key Laboratory for Polar Life and Environment, and Shanghai Frontiers Science Center Of Polar Science. The School has received a number of international research and educational projects in collaboration with institutions around the world, engaging in a wide range of research activities from wetlands to deep ocean trenches, spanning from equatorial to polar regions. The School of Oceanography has been ranked as A+ consistently by Times Higher Education, and Top 3 among Chinese universities in the national ranking. As a young school, the School of Oceanography is steadily advancing towards excellences in education, research and service.
