Represented by “Haima-4500”, the "Haima” series ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) covers an operational depth range of 200-6000 meters. The "Haima-4500" is the first domestically developed large-scale work-class ROV in China, capable of operating at water depth of 4500 meters. It is also the one with the largest scale, strongest operation capability, highest localization rate, having been tested in practical applications over a decade. With its performance strengths of "precision," "accuracy," and "finesse," the "Haima" series ROVs have made significant contributions to the overall level of deep-sea geological exploration in China. It was the first to discover the cold seep on the northwestern slope of South China Sea, named after "Haima Cold Seep", and also seabed methane vents, providing indispensable technical support for the study of major scientific issues related to cold seeps. Practical applications have proven that the "Haima" series products are reliable, stable, highly adaptable, and feature strong expandability. The achievements of the "Haima-4500" were selected as one of the "Top Ten Science and Technology News of China in 2014" by academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, as well as the "Top Ten Marine Science and Technology Advances of China" in 2014 and 2018. It also won the first prize of the Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award in 2017 and the first prize of Land and Resources Science and Technology Award by the Ministry of Natural Resources in 2019.
